Constitution & Rules

1. NAME: The Name of The Club shall be "Kingsbridge Archers".

2. OBJECTS: The objects of the club shall be to provide facilities for Archery for inhabitants of Kingsbridge and the South Hams area, and for such other persons as may under the Rules be admitted to membership of the club.

3. MEMBERS: Full membership of the club shall be open to three classes of persons, who shall be Ordinary Members. These persons shall be classified as Senior, Junior or Associate Members.

4. OFFICERS & COMMITTEE: The Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and not less than two other members. The Committee shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting in each year and subject to termination of office by resignation or otherwise, shall remain in office until their successors are elected at the following Annual General Meeting. The Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy that might occur. The retiring members of the Committee shall be eligible for re-election.

5. CAPTAIN: The members have the power to elect a Captain, who shall hold office for one year. The Captain shall automatically be a member of the Committee.

6. SUBSCRIPTION & TARGET FEES: The annual subscription for all members shall be decided at the Annual General Meeting by a simple majority of the members present voting to decide on an altered subscription in any year, in which case such altered subscription shall be an annual subscription. Subscriptions shall be due on August 16th. Each member for every shoot in which he or she participates shall pay a target fee.

7. VICE-PRESIDENTS: The Committee shall have the power to elect Honorary Vice-Presidents of the Club.

8. VISITORS: The Committee shall have the power to elect members of other Archery Clubs affiliated to the Grand National Archery Society to use and enjoy the premises and facilities of the Club as visitors for limited periods upon payment of a fee. Such visitors shall not be entitled to vote at any meeting of members.

9. CLUB DISCIPLINE: The Committee shall have the power to expel or temporarily suspend any member of the Club who shall offend against the Rules of the Club, or whose conduct shall, in the opinion of the Committee render them unfit for membership of the club.

10. APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP: Every applicant for membership shall give his or her full Name and Address to the Club Secretary.

11. ALTERATION OF THE RULES: The Committee shall have the power to alter the Rules, but no alterations shall take effect until the same has been confirmed at the Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting convened for the purpose.

12. GNAS: The Club is run in accordance with the Grand National Archery Society for the time being in force.

13. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: A general meeting shall be held at least once in every year for the following business:
a) To receive and if approved adopt, a statement of the Club's accounts to the end of the preceding year.
b) To consider and if approved sanction any duly made alteration of the rules.
c) To appoint the officers and other members of the Committee.
d) To elect a Captain if the members so desire.
e) To deal with any special matters which the Committee desire to bring before the members and to receive suggestions from the members for the consideration of the Committee.

14. SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING: A Special General Meeting may be convened at any time by the Committee, and shall be convened within fourteen days from receipt of a requisition in writing specifying the object of the meeting for the purposes of dealing with any matter which the members requiring the meeting may desire to place before the Committee.

15. CHAIR AT MEETINGS: At Committee meetings and General Meetings the Chairman shall preside and if he/she is not present, a chairman shall be elected to preside.

16. QUORUM: At all meetings three shall form a quorum.

17. AFFILIATION: The Club shall be affiliated to the following bodies:
a) The Devon & Cornwall Archery Society, (DCAS).
b) The Grand Western Archery Society, (GWAS).
c) The Grand National Archery Society, (GNAS).
